1.0 Overview
Bitsila is the leading platform that helps users onboard to the ONDC network.
The users that are onboard ONDC through Bitsila can use the Bitsila system to manage their outlets from one place. For these outlets, Bitsila allows them to configure the details like the Items, Order preferences, delivery preferences, delivery slots, etc.
Generally, for a business with multiple outlets, the configurations like items, delivery timings, etc might be the same.
Until now, in the Bitsila system, if a user wants to add more outlets to their account with the same items and preferences, they need to add all the details manually.
This is not a practical solution when they are adding a large number of outlets.
So, Bitsila is now introducing a new feature called Bulk Clone, that will allow users to create multiple outlets with the same configuration at the same time.
For this flow to work, the user’s ONDC account should be live and have at least one Outlet with all the configurations properly added.
1.1 Configurations
Here are some of the configurations and what they are for

These are the Products that you want to add to an Outlet. Once the outlet is live the customers will be able to buy these products from that Outlet.

As the name implies, here you can configure the delivery charges based on the distance range. For example, you can charge 10 Rs for a distance of 1-5 Km and you can charge 20 Rs for a distance of 5-10 Km.
Packaging Charges
You can configure the packaging charges based on the order type, packaging order taxes, etc.

Through Settings, you can configure the Payment and Settlement Detail, Inventory Sync Configurations, Packaging Charge Details, Notification Configuration, Order Configuration, Logistics, and Other details.
Delivery Slots and Delivery Slot Definitions
Through this, you can configure at what time slots you are delivering the items and the orders.
Apart from what is mentioned above, you can also configure the Staff, Counters, Linked Stores, Shifts, Timings, etc.
If you have all these configured to at least one Outlet in your Account, we can move on to perform of the Bulk Clone process.
2.0 Step-by-Step Procedure
The user has to go to the Business Module and Click on Outlets
You can see the list of all outlets linked to your account.
In the Search bar search for the Outlet that has the configurations that you want to replicate.
Click on the Export Button
The Outlet Data is Exported
Go to the Products Module and Click on Data Exports and Imports
Download the Export related to the Outlet which should be on the top of the list
Once the Excel Sheet is Downloaded, Open the Sheet
In the Excel sheet in the first row, you can see the Headers like ID, Store Code, Outlet Name, Address, Latitude, Longitude, City, State, Country, Default Delivery, Delivery Type, Customer Support Number, etc.
Below the headers, in the second row, you can see the details of the exported outlet corresponding to the respective headers. Take them as a reference and start entering the details for the outlets you want to create.
Enter ID in the increasing order, the first store will have 1, the second will have 2, the third will have 3, and so on
You can add the Store Code on your own, but it shouldn’t coincide with the Store Code of the already existing Outlet. If you leave it blank, the store code will be directly allocated by the system.
Enter the Location Details of the Outlets in the Address, House, Apartment, Landmark, Floor, Area, Latitude, Longitude, City, State, and Country Columns. These are mandatory fields and cannot be left blank.
Select the Default Delivery Mode and Delivery Type for the respective outlets through the Dropdowns.
Add the Customer Support Number. It should be different for each store.
Add the Name of the Primary contact person
Add the Mobile Number
Once you add all the details, save the Excel file and make sure it is ready for the Import.
Go back to the Bitsila account and navigate to the Outlets Module
Click on the Outlet that you used for the Clone
Go to the Actions Dropdown on the top-right and Click Bulk Clone
In the pop-up, Click on Upload Excel File and Import the Excel File that you saved with all the Outlet Details
In the same pop-up, you can choose what configurations you want to copy from the reference outlet.
Click on Import
Go to the Products Module and Click on Data Exports and Imports.
You can see the Bulk Outlet Import registered on the top of the list. If the Import is successful, you will see the status as success. If not it will show the status as crashed. If the status is pending, please wait until it is processed.
Once the Import is confirmed, go to the Business Module and click on outlets. You can see the new outlets created and added to the list
Click on any of the newly created outlets and check out the configurations. You will find that the outlets are configured with the same details as the original outlet that you selected. Below you can see a comparison of the Order Preferences between the two.
3.0 FAQs
1. What is Bitsila's Bulk Clone feature?
Bitsila's Bulk Clone feature allows users to create multiple outlets with identical configurations simultaneously. It streamlines the process for businesses managing multiple outlets by replicating the details, including items, order preferences, delivery settings, and more, from an existing outlet to newly created ones.
2. How does Bulk Clone simplify outlet creation?
The feature eliminates the manual input of configurations for each new outlet, making it efficient for businesses with multiple outlets. Users need only set up the details for one outlet, and then Bulk Clone replicates these settings across multiple outlets.
3. What configurations can be replicated using Bulk Clone?
Users can replicate a wide range of configurations, such as items (products available at the outlet), order preferences (delivery methods, pickup preferences, etc.), delivery charges based on distance, packaging charges, settings (payment details, inventory sync, notifications, etc.), delivery slots, staff, counters, timings, and more.
4. How does the Bulk Clone process work step-by-step?
The process involves exporting data from the reference outlet, preparing an Excel sheet with outlet details, uploading this sheet, and selecting the configurations to copy. Here's a brief step-by-step:
- Export outlet data from Bitsila.
- Download the exported data as an Excel sheet.
- Populate the Excel sheet with details for new outlets.
- Upload the prepared Excel file to Bitsila.
- Choose which configurations to copy.
- Confirm the import and wait for processing.
- Check the Business Module to see newly created outlets.
5. What information is required in the Excel sheet for new outlets?
The Excel sheet requires specific details for each outlet, such as ID (incremental), location details (address, latitude, longitude, etc.), default delivery mode, delivery type, customer support number, primary contact person, mobile number, etc.
6. Can users customize certain details for each new outlet during Bulk Clone?
Yes, users have the flexibility to input unique information for each outlet, such as store codes (if not coinciding with existing codes), location details, contact information, and other specific preferences.
7. How can users confirm the success of the Bulk Clone process?
Users can check the status of the bulk outlet import in the Products Module under Data Exports and Imports. A "success" status confirms a successful import, while "crashed" indicates an issue. "Pending" suggests ongoing processing, and users need to wait for completion.
8. What happens after the Bulk Clone process is successful?
Upon successful import, users can navigate to the Business Module and access the list of outlets to find the newly created outlets. Checking the configurations of these new outlets confirms that they mirror the settings of the reference outlet selected for the Bulk Clone process.
9. Is there a limit to the number of outlets that can be created using Bulk Clone?
As long as the user's ONDC account is live and at least one outlet with proper configurations exists, there isn't a specified limit to the number of outlets that can be created using Bulk Clone. Users can create multiple outlets simultaneously based on their requirements.
